Air Force Nuclear Enterprise Follow-on Review
Paul G. Kaminski (fr); Larry D. Welch (ed)
The Air Force leadership implemented extraordinary measures in their nuclear enterprise following two incidents in 2007 and 2008. In 2010, the leadership requested a Task Force to conduct an assessment of the effectiveness of the extraordinary measures and of the resulting state of the nuclear enterprise. The Task Force found that the measures had been successful, but there were still significant shortfalls in personnel, logistics, and facility support. In 2012, the leadership asked the Task Force to do a follow-on review to assess the effect of the changes subsequent to the 2010 assessment and report on the current state of the enterprise. This is the report of that follow-on review, which found significant improvements in the problem areas addressed in the 2010 assessment, with the exception of the Personnel Reliabilty Program, which continues to be mired in bureaucratic excesses. Includes recommendations. This is a print on demand report.
