It highlights the ongoing enhancements made to DHSäó»s FOIA program including regularly apprising senior management of the state of DHSäó»s backlog, leveraging resources, streamlining operating procedures, and negotiating with requesters to simplify requests. This report addresses two strategic goals specific to FOIA: (1) to provide outreach, education, training, and reports to promote privacy and openness in homeland security; and (2) to ensure that DHS complies with federal privacy and disclosure laws and policies.
