Description
The Investing in Innovation (i3) Fund is a program that provides competitive grants to expand the use of innovative practices that improve student achievement and attainment. The U.S. Department of Education (Education) administers the program, which was created under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Along with other programs funded by the Recovery Act, the i3 program is part of the Obama administration's larger educational reform efforts to ensure that students are college and career ready. This report describes: (1) the distribution of i3 awards across grant and recipient types; (2) the criteria Education has used to make awards; (3) the distribution of i3 funds among the priorities that Education specified for the program; and (4) how Education supports grantees in implementing and evaluating their projects. Tables and figures. This is a print on demand report.
