Description
Kathleen Stoll. In Sept. 2002, the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey report estimated that there were 41 million persons without health insurance (HI) in the U.S. in 2001. However, there are many people who are uninsured (UI) for a portion of a year but not for the entire year. These individuals are not reflected in the widely quoted number, but they may be impacted both physically & economically by their UI status. This group of people, combined with the number of people who were UI throughout the year, provides a more thorough picture of how many people were directly impacted by a lack of HI coverage. This report provides national & state-by-state est. of how many people were UI during all or part of the 2001-2002 two-year period. Charts & tables.
