Genetically Modified Foods: Experts View Regimen of Safety Tests as Adequate, but FDA’s Evaluation Process Could Be Enhanced

This report: identifies the types of potential human health risks (HR) assoc. with GMF & experts’ views regarding the adequacy of tests used to evaluate these HR; describes FDA’s controls for ensuring that co’s. submit test data & identifies experts’ views of the agency’s overall evaluations of these foods; describes potential changes in future GMF & any assoc. changes in tests to evaluate them; & identifies experts’ views on the necessity & feasibility of monitoring the long-term HR of GMF.
