Clean Water Action Plan: The First Year: The Future
Carol Green (ed)
To commemorate the 25th ann’y. of the Clean Water Act, the VP asked fed. agencies to develop and implement a plan that would revitalize the nation’s commitment to our water resources. The result was the Clean Water Action Plan (CWAP), which was released on Feb. 19, 1998. In 1999 the fed. agencies worked with tribal, state, and local partners to implement the 100 key actions in the CWAP and build a framework for watershed protection in the 21st cent. This report highlights the progress that has been made toward implementing this plan and outlines the agenda for the coming year. The goal of the CWAP is to reinvigorate our efforts to protect the water we love by strengthening leadership for those efforts at the local level. Illustrations.
