Routine Inspections under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC)
Barry Leonard (ed)
The CWC is an international arms control agreement that prohibits the development, production, acquisition, stockpiling, transfer, and use of chemical weapons (CW). Unprecedented in its scope and complexity, the CWC goes further than previous arms control agreements to eliminate a weapon of mass destruction on a global basis. The Convention seeks not only to ban CW, but also to monitor the production, consumption, processing import, and export of specific chemicals identified as either scheduled chemicals or unscheduled discrete organic chemicals. Contents of this document: Routine Inspections; List of Scheduled Chemicals; Reporting and Inspection Thresholds; and Related Materials. Illustrations.
