Release of Declassified Narrative Describing the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counselís Opinions on the CIAís Detention and Interrogation Program
Eric H. Holder, Jr. (ed); John D. Rockefeller IV (pf)
This letter from Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., responds to a letter dated Feb. 3, 2009 from Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV, U.S. Senate, Select Comm. on Intelligence, which requested declassification and release of a narrative regarding advice provided by the Dept. of Justice (DoJ) to the CIA on the legality of the CIAís use of certain interrogation techniques. The document is an effort to provide to the public an initial narrative of the history of the opinions of the DoJís Office of Legal Counsel, from 2002 to 2007, on the legality of the CIAís detention and interrogation program.
