Pennsbury Manor is the reconstructed 17th cent. plantation of William Penn, Founder & first Governor of PA. The 43-acre site is located on the banks of the Delaware River in lower Bucks County, PA. The only extant residence of William Penn, Pennsbury interprets to the visitor the lifestyle of William Penn, his family, & the Quaker colonists who staffed the plantation. There are 17th century gardens, orchards, & a variety of domestic animals. All the recipes in this book have been adapted from the recipes of Gulielma Penn, the wife of William Penn, for use in the 20th cent.
