It also discussed the availability of several reference sources, timing considerations, & the first two phases of a 7-step evaluation mgt. process. The second part of this article focuses on the next two stages. Phase 3: Select Research Design: Research design is the overall written plan of evaluation on how the assessment will be performed to effectively collect, process, & present information. Changes in research design may be necessary as the evaluation evolves & new challenges are encountered. In general, the research design will include applicable research methods, measurement instruments, predefined perimenters, & scheduing milestones for completing each task. Phase 4: Collect & Process Information: This phase involves the active gathering of relevant facts & details based on evaluation requirements. Conducting program evaluations & implementing subsequent corrective actions will improve a program’s operational effectivenss & an organization’s efficiency with the mutual goal of better meeting the needs of the stakeholders & the general public.
