On Jan. 16, 2002, the Nat. Inst. for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) received a request for a health hazard evaluation from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) regarding Bacillus Anthracis contamination in the Trenton, NJ Processing & Distribution Center. The USPS requested assistance in determining the most appropriate method(s) for air sampling for Bacillus Anthracis spores. In response to this request, a collaborative research project between NIOSH & the USPS was conducted during the week of Feb. 4-7, 2002.
