My South: A People, a Place, a World of Its Own
Bryan Curtis (ed)
A collection of spoken-word poems based on works by Robert St. John. This book was made possible through the talent of more than 50 southerners who have shared their funny, touching, and poignant view of the Southland. What began as a simple advertising campaign on the Turner South network soon captured the hearts of its viewers, who understand why sweet tea is the house wine of the South but canít understand why anyone would use one syllable to say something when two sounds so much better. Letters and e-mails from viewers wanting to share their own impressions of their home evolved into spoken-word competitions across the South. Several of those performances are featured in the DVD included with this book. Photos.
