Residential Biofuel Marketing and Delivery Method Study
Alex Sifford (au)
Defines residential biofuels as any biomass-based fuel consumed in homes. The most common example is firewood, defined as any wood used for fuel, and is also known as cordwood or stickwood. Other residential biofuels include sawdust (little used today in home furnaces) & more sophisticated manufactured products like wood pellets and densified “logs.” Common feedstocks include sawdust and planer shavings. These new residential biofuels hold promise for more sophisticated marketing and delivery methods. The report discusses historic delivery methods for residential wood fuels; current delivery methods for residential wood fuels; and suggested future marketing and delivery methods. Includes references and residential wood fuel advertisements. Illustrations.
