Born in 1955, Shawn worked with his father’s construction co. In 1978 Riley was diagnosed as having chronic myelogenous leukemia. In 1987 his disease converted to acute lymphocytic leukemia, requiring chemotherapy for control. In Sept. 1987 he underwent a successful bone marrow transplant with marrow donated by his brother. He became disease free & was able to work full time & lead a normal life.
