Information Technology Reform: Billions of Dollars in Savings Have Been Realized, but Agencies Need Complete Reinvestment Plans
David A. Powner (au)
Beginning in 2010, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) initiated a series of information technology (IT) reform efforts to consolidate the growing number of data centers and eliminate duplicative spending in the federal government. In May 2012, OMB began a äóģcut and reinvestäó¯ effort that required agencies to propose FY 2014 IT reductions and reinvestments. This report (1) assesses agenciesäó» progress in achieving savings from their IT reform efforts; (2) evaluates agenciesäó» plans to reinvest their savings; and (3) evaluates how selected agencies have reinvested their savings and governance processes to oversee the reinvestments. Tables and figures. This is a print on demand report.
