Description
California is a major contributor to U.S. agricultural production. The 500-mile long Central Valley Project (CVP), one of the nationäó»s largest water projects, provides water to approx. one-third of the agricultural land in the state. The Dept. of the Interioräó»s Bureau of Reclamation, which constructed and operates the CVP, must balance competing interests for water, which is particularly important as California enters its four year of an extreme drought with state-wide restrictions on water use. This report provides financial information for activities that Reclamation carried out under the Central Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA), Calfed Bay-Delta, and San Joaquin River Restoration programs, including specific legal authorities under which the agency requested and expended funds since each programäó»s inception through FY 2014. Figures and tables. This is a print on demand report.
