Department of Defense: More than 75 Percent of All SIGAR Audit and Inspection Report Recommendations Have Been Implemented
John F. Sopko (ed)
Report of a review that was initiated to (1) identify and assess the status of recommendations made by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan (SIGAR) to the Department of Defense (DOD) in all performance audits, financial audits, and inspections; and (2) review actions taken or planned by DOD to address any open recommendations. SIGAR made 209 recommendations to DOD from SIGARäó»s inception in January 2008 through June 2014. This review found that of the 196 recommendations that have been closed, DOD has implemented 161 of them to date, which improved the accountability of U.S. funds spent on reconstruction activities in Afghanistan and resulted in savings or recovery of more than one billion dollars. Figures and tables. This is a print on demand report.
