This report presents a detailed look at results from the 2013 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), an annual survey sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration(SAMHSA). The survey is the primary source of information on the use of illicit drugs, alcohol, and tobacco in the civilian, non-institutionalized population of the U.S. aged 12 years old or older. Approximately 67,500 persons are interviewed each year. This report focuses on trends between 2012 and 2013 and from 2002 to 2013, as well as differences across population subgroups in 2013.
