U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is responsible for security at and between ports of entry along the Nationäó»s sea, air, and land borders. Congress directed CBP to report on its allocation for field operations and update the ports of entry staffing model. To improve operations, CBP developed a three-pronged Resource Optimization Strategy.
