Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiencyńˇ╗s Cloud Computing Initiative
Beth Cobert (ed)
Federal agencies have looked to incorporate cloud computing systems into their overall info. tech. (IT) environment. The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiencyńˇ╗s (CIGIE) IT Committee began a Government-wide initiative to evaluate participating agenciesńˇ╗ efforts when adopting cloud computing technologies. As part of this review, the 19 participating Offices of Inspector General (OIG) selected a sample of 77 commercial cloud contracts that Federal agencies issued as they transitioned to a cloud system. These contracts have a value of approx. $1.6 billion. Each participating OIG reviewed its sampled contract(s) independently and transmitted the results for consolidation. Results show that participating Federal agencies have not fully considered and implemented Federal guidance, the agenciesńˇ╗ policies, and best practices when developing requirements for cloud computing contracts. This is a print on demand report.
