Trends in Family Wealth, 1989 to 2013
Keith Hall (au)
This report shows that in 2013, aggregate family wealth in the U.S. was $67 trillion (or about four times the nationäó»s gross domestic product) and the median family (the one at the midpoint of the wealth distribution) held approximately $81,000. For this analysis, that measure of wealth was calculated as a familyäó»s assets minus its debt. The report shows that in 2013, families in the top 10% of the wealth distribution held 76% of all family wealth, families in the 51st to the 90th percentiles held 23%, and those in the bottom half of the distribution held 1%. It also shows that there are significant differences in wealth among different age and education groups. Figures. This is a print on demand report.
