Among many other achievements, the SEC adopted significant rules to help reduce systematic risks in our financial system and rules to help increase the flow of capital to smaller businesses while maintaining important safeguards for investors; successfully and aggressively pursued hundreds of enforcement actions covering a broad range of misconduct and market participants; and used new technology to bolster the integrity of our markets. One of the SECäó»s major areas of activity was to implement the rules mandated by two landmark pieces of legislation -- the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act) and the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (JOBS Act).
