Evaluation of DHS劌製 Information Security Program for Fiscal Year 2013
Frank W. Deffer (ed)
This report shows that the Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to improve and strengthen its information security program. During FY23013, DHS drafted an ongoing authorization methodology to help improve the security of the Dept.劌製 information systems through a new risk management approach which transitions DHS from a static, paperwork-driven, security authorization process to a dynamic framework that can provide security-related information on demand to make risk-based decisions based on requent updates to security plans, security assessment reports, and hardware and software inventories. DHS also developed and implemented the FY 2013 Information Security Performance Plan and has taken actions to address the Admin.劌製 cybersecurity priorities, which include the implementation of trusted internet connections, continuous monitoring, and strong authentication. However, while these efforts have resulted in some improvements, components are still not executing all of DHS劌製 policies, procedures, and practices. Figures and tables. This is a print on demand report.
