Humani-Tee: A Story about Cancer
This is a children’s book about cancer, a life changing diagnosis. It is a story about a group of young friends who want to destroy sickness and all things that make their town unsafe. It is also about the journey of complex emotions experienced by cancer patients, their families and friends and their fight for survival. The author’s husband Damon lost his battle with cancer (Leukemia). Their eldest daughter Angel was chosen to be the donor for the bone marrow transplant. Angel was only 16 and very afraid. She set aside her fears so that she could help save her daddy’s life. The purpose of this book is to raise money for cancer research, and to help all affected by cancer to confront painful emotions and overcome challenging obstacles. Color illus.
