Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook: July 2012
Rachel J. Johnson (au)
Following on the heels of last yearäó»s drought, in 2012 the lack of adequate rainfall over more than half of the United States has resulted in rapidly deteriorating crop and pasture conditions that have driven corn prices higher and cattle prices lower. This report provides current information on the negative effects of the drought on U.S. trade in beef/cattle, pork/hogs, poultry, and dairy. Lower yield forecasts for feed grains and oilseeds will lead to higher feed prices for the balance of 2012 and into 2013 and will likely accelerate production declines. Figures and tables. This is a print on demand report.
