Childrenäó»s Exposure to Elemental Mercury: A National Review of Exposure Events
Richard E. Besser (au)
Children attending a daycare in New Jersey were exposed to elemental (metallic) mercury. The daycare opened in a building that was previously a thermometer factory and had not been cleaned properly. Because elemental mercury can cause health problems, Congress wanted to know more about events related to elemental mercury exposures. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) formed a Mercury Workgroup to (1) identify the common sources of elemental mercury exposure in children; and (2) desribe the location, demographics, and proportion of children exposed or potentially exposed to elemental mercury in the U.S. This is the report of the Mercury Workgroupäó»s comprehensive review. Tables and figures. This is a print on demand report.
