Competence Without Credentials
Nevzer G. Staccy (ed). A workshop was held in September 1997 on computer-based learning & its implications for employers & traditional post-secondary institutions. Computer-based education was defined as employing computers to gather & use info. that has been transmitted electronically from other sites. General trends in new learning resources have led to specific challenges: alternative credentials; new modes of instruction; & multiple sources of instruction. A one-day workshop was held & 4 papers were commissioned to address these issues & the questions they raise for post-secondary institutions. This publication includes these 4 papers, & ends with a conclusion.
