Immigrant Scientists, Engineers, & Technicians 1991-92: Detailed Statistical Tables
Joanne P. Streeter (ed). The Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) supplies the National Science Foundation (NSF) with data on those immigrants who classified their occupation as scientists & engineers (S&Es), on the basis of their educational or employment background. The data used in this report come from the FY 1991 & FY 1992 Immigrant Public Tape prepared by the INS. S&Es constitute only a small proportion of all immigrants to the U.S., only 0.7% in 1991 & 2.3% in 1992. The bulk of immigrant S&Es are engineers.
