The fire gases were made visible by the use of artificial smoke added to the fire plume. This study concerned the effects on vents by varying the position & distribution of the inlet openings near the floor. The effects of dividing the building into two reservoirs by a smoke curtain were considered where the inflow of air into the fire reservoir was provided by the ceiling vents of the adjacent reservoir.
