Jeremy Holtzman (au). The AHRQ sponsors technical assessments to assist public- & private-sector organizations in their efforts to improve the quality of health care in the U.S. This report has two primary purposes to conduct a systematic review of the scientific literature to assess: (1) the evidence that behavioral interventions are an effective means to help the general population meet current aerobic physical activity recommendations or to maintain or increase their level of aerobic activities in interventions that had a minimum of three months of non-intervention followup time; & (2) the evidence that physical activity interventions are efficacious for producing improvements in psychological & physiologic outcomes in cancer survivors.
