Description
Bryan Vossekuil (au). The Safe School Initiative (SSI) was implemented through the Secret Service’s (SS) Nat. Threat Assessment Center & the Dept. of Educ’s. (DoE) Safe & Drug-Free Schools Program. The SS had experience in studying & preventing assassinations & other types of violence & the DoE had expertise in the creation of safe environments for students, faculty, & staff. This report details how the two agencies studied school-based attacks & what they found. There is no simple explanation as to why these attacks have occurred; nor is there a simple solution to stop this problem. But, future attacks may be preventable, if those responsible know what questions to ask & where to uncover info. that may help to intervene before an attack can occur.
