Barry Leonard (ed). The Fed. Trade Comm. (FTC) sponsored a survey of US adults on the topic of Identity Theft -- that is, whether they discovered that their personal information was being misused -- & the resulting experiences of victims. The specific objectives of this study were to: estimate the incidence of Identity Theft Victimization; measure the impacts of Identity Theft on the victims; identify actions taken by victims; & explore measures that may help victims of future cases of Identity Theft. The study was conducted using interviews conducted by telephone. The results contained in this report are for victims who have discovered that they were victims of Identity Theft within the last 5 years. Charts & graphs.
