Federal Aviation Administration Efforts to Locate Aircraft N711RD
Kenneth M. Mead (ed). Report of an investigation by Inspector Gen. Kenneth Mead, U.S. Dept. of Transportation, into the reported involvement of the Fed. Aviation Admin. (FAA) in Federal & Texas State efforts to locate an airplane owned by Pete Laney, a member of the Texas House of Representatives. This plane, reportedly associated with the absent Texas legislators, is a twin-engine Piper Cherokee -- tail number N711RD -- registered to State Rep. Laney. This report to the Committee on Governmental Affairs, U.S. Senate, identifies all requests to FAA concerning State Rep. Laney’s airplane, identifies FAA actions resultant of such requests, & determines whether FAA’s actions were appropriate &, if not, what remedial measures are being taken.
