Description
Katherine R. Bowman & Peggy Barker. Presents information from the 2000 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse (NHSDA) on rates of use, number of users, & other measures related to illicit drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, & other forms of tobacco. The NHSDA is an annual survey of the civilian non-instituionalized population of the U.S., 12 years or older. In 1999, the sample design was changed from a strictly nat. design to a state-based sampling plan. This report addresses primarily the changes in rates of use between 1999 & 2000 & the differences in patterns of use among various demographic & geographic subgroups of the U.S. population. This initial report on the 2000 data presents only nat. estimates.
