Description
From 1964 to 1972, the U.S. executed a secret campaign of covert operations against North Vietnam. Controlled by the Pentagon’s Special Operations Group, under the cover name “Studies & Observation Group” (SOG), it was the U.S.’s largest & most complex covert operation since WW2. Because it was so highly classified & politically sensitive, once the war was over the story of SOG was buried at the Pentagon -- until Shultz began his investigative research based on thousands of pages of recently declassified top-secret SOG documents. He also conducted interviews with 60 officers who ran SOG’s covert programs & the senior officials who directed this secret war. Photos & illustrations.
