Reprint of a 1954 manual issued by the Library of Congress’s (LOC) Reference Dept,. which was reissued in 1966. This pub. suggests methods of planning and carrying through a bibliographical project. It provides a style manual of forms of entry developed by the LOC, through the adaptation of rules followed by catalogers of the Library’s collections. It makes available a manual used by LOC bibliographers. The pub. emphasizes the unity of principles underlying the preparation of bibliographical entries and of LOC catalog cards. By following the rules provided for this purpose the bibliographer may apply the principles when referring to articles in periodicals and to other pubs. not individually recorded in the catalogs of the LOC.
