That this fake, as Umberto Eco explains in his Intro., “was produced by a number of secret services and police of 3 countries assembled from a collage of different texts, is by now a well-known fact -- and Will Eisner tells it in full.” Eisner explains that “For me, ‘The Plot’ marks an effort to employ this powerful medium to address a matter of immense personal concern,” as his parents were Jewish-Amer. immigrants and he himself experienced prejudice against Jews. “I became interested in the devices that anti-Semites used to promote their message.”
