Katherine A. Siggerud (au)
In Mar. 2005, two well-publicized & nearly simultaneous incidents involving the suspicion of anthrax took place in the Wash., DC, area. The USPS suspended oper. at 2 of its facilities & 1,000+ DoD & USPS employees were given antibiotics as a precaution against their possible exposure to anthrax. This report describes: what occurred at the Pentagon & Skyline Complex mail facilities; the problems identified in detecting & responding to the incidents; actions taken by DoD that address the problems that occurred; & the extent to which DoDís actions address the problems.
