Description
Lucy has been trying to take a picture of her friends at Railroad Hall in the Smithsonian’s Nat. Museum of Amer. History but they won’t stand still. When Lucy accidentally drops her camera, and her friends run off, she looks through the lens and she sees before her a large group of workers and businessmen wearing clothes like the ones in an old western movie. Lucy comes to realize it is 1869 and she has become Andrew Russell, the man who took the famous photograph of the driving of the golden spike into the last rail of the Transcontinental Railroad. Lucy overhears amazing accounts detailing the building of the first Transcontinental Railroad that connected the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Full-color illustrations.
