The protection of U.S. fed. facilities has become an important concern due to the ongoing threat of terrorism. The GSA, the USPS, the VA & Interior hold the most domestic, nonmilitary property. The Dept. of Homeland Security is responsible for the protection of GSA facilities. The need to better protect fed. facilities, as well as fed. budget constraints, have prompted the need for these agencies to measure the performance of their facility protection efforts. The objectives of this report were: to identify examples of performance measures (PF) for facility protection being used by selected org. outside of the fed. govít.; & to determine the status of U.S. fed. agenciesí efforts to develop & use PF as part of their facility protection programs.
