Description
This report presents earnings data from the Current Population Survey (CPS), a national monthly survey of approx. 60,000 households conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. Information on earnings is collected from 1/4 of the CPS sample each month. The comparisons of earnings in this report are on a broad level & do not control for many factors that can be significant in explaining earnings differences. Also provides a detailed description of the source of the data & an explanation of the concepts & definitions used. In 2004, median weekly earnings for women who were full-time wage & salary workers were $573, or 80% of the $713 median for their male counterparts. This ratio was about the same in 2003.
