Genetically Modified Model Report on the Toxicology Studies of Trimethylpropane Triacrylate (Technical Grade) (CAS No. 15625-89-5) in F344/N Rats, B6C3F1 Mice, and Genetically Modified (FVB Tg.AC Hemizygous) Mice (Dermal Studies)
R.S. Chhabra (ed); J. Mahler (ed)
Trimethylpropane triacrylate (TT) is a multifunctional monomer used in the prod地. of ultraviolet-curable inks & coatings, electron beam irrad地.-curable coatings, & radiation-cured & photocurable castings of urethanes & epoxy resins, & as an ingred. in many other items such as acrylic glues, polyester, fiberglass, indust値. baked coatings, & polymer-impregnated concrete. TT was nominated for testing due to its high prod. vol. & use, its potential for consumer exposure, & a lack of adequate test. Conclusions: Male & female Tg.AC hemizygous mice dosed with TT for 6 mon. had increased incidences & multiplicity of papillomas of the skin at the site of dermal appl地. Treatment-related squamous cell carcinomas occurred at the site of appl地. in dosed female mice.
