Trimethylpropane triacrylate (TT) is a multifunctional monomer used in the prod’n. of ultraviolet-curable inks & coatings, electron beam irrad’n.-curable coatings, & radiation-cured & photocurable castings of urethanes & epoxy resins, & as an ingred. in many other items such as acrylic glues, polyester, fiberglass, indust’l. baked coatings, & polymer-impregnated concrete. TT was nominated for testing due to its high prod. vol. & use, its potential for consumer exposure, & a lack of adequate test. Conclusions: Male & female Tg.AC hemizygous mice dosed with TT for 6 mon. had increased incidences & multiplicity of papillomas of the skin at the site of dermal appl’n. Treatment-related squamous cell carcinomas occurred at the site of appl’n. in dosed female mice.
