Equipment Status of Deployed Forces within the U.S. Central Command
Wanda A. Scott (ed)
This report was compiled by the Dept. of Defense (DoD) Office of Inspector Gen. (OIG) to inform DoD personnel responsible for equipping U.S. forces to perform missions within the U.S. Central Command. The report identifies equipment shortages that Service members who performed missions in Iraq & Afghanistan experienced because standard processes to establish equipment requirements did not exist, force-protection equipment was not always available, & policy that assigned Service responsibility for equipping units to perform non-traditional missions in the U.S. Central Command did not exist. Contents: Background; Objectives; Review of Internal Controls; Findings: Equipping the Force, & Request for Forces Process; & Mgmt. Comments. Illus.
