It provides incentives to promote the adoption of IT that supports the electronic sharing of data among hospitals, physicians, and other HCE. This report on practices implemented by health info. exchange org., providers, and other HCE that disclose electronic personal health info. describes: (1) the practices implemented for disclosing personal health info. for purposes of treatment, incl. the use of electronic means for obtaining consent; and (2) the effects of the electronic sharing of health info. on the quality of care for patients.
