John B. Stephenson (au)
Climate change has implications for the vast land & water resources managed by the Bureau of Land Mgmt., the Forest Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Nat. Oceanic & Atmospheric Admin., & the Nat. Park Service. These resources generally occur within four ecosystem types: coasts & oceans, forests, fresh waters, & grasslands & shrublands. The author obtained expertsí views on: (1) the effects of climate change on fed. resources; & (2) the challenges managers face in addressing climate change effects on these resources. A workshop was held with the Nat. Academies in which 54 scientists, economists, & fed. resource managers participated, & conducted 4 case studies. Includes recommendations. Charts & tables.
