Description   Edwin Wolf 2nd (1911-1991) began his long assoc. with the Library Co. (LCP) in 1952, when he was hired as a consultant to survey the collections & advise about its future direction. Mr. Wolf’s report concluded that LCP’s rare book collection was of enormous significance, & he recommended that the LCP become a scholarly research library with special emphasis on the history & culture of Amer. to 1880. His report became the blueprint for the renaissance of the LCP over the coming decades that Mr. Wolf orchestrated. By the time he retired as Librarian in 1984 the LCP was recognized as one of the nation’s premier independent research libraries.
