This report identifies: (1) the driverís license-related processes that states are using to encourage registration or provide addíl. monitoring of convicted SO; (2) the level of modifications to statesí info. tech. capabilities that would be needed, & the cost factors involved, if a fed. law were to require the screening of individuals against the respective stateís SO registry & the FBIís Nat. SO Registry before issuing a driverís license; & (3) other factors that could affect successful implementation of this type of screening program. Ill.
