35 Receipts "From the Larder Invaded"
William Woys Weaver
This collection of Receipts is drawn from materials assembled for the exhibition "The Larder Invaded: Reflections on Three Centuries of Philadelphia Food and Drink" presented jointly by the Library Company of Philadelphia and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. It is intended as a gustatory guide through the exhibit-small tastings, if you will, of the huge feast that has unfolded from Philadelphia's culinary past. We hope that this tasting will offer a broad range of perspectives on Philadelphia and its cookery, from soup kitchens to the luxuries of caramel ice cream. (Philadelphia: Library Company of Philadelphia and Historical Society of Pennsylvania, 1986.)
